With 425,000 bookings already confirmed for this year’s Into Film Festival, we don’t want you or your pupils to miss out on this thrilling educational opportunity – so don’t delay and book your tickets.

The largest youth-focused film festival in the world, the Into Film Festival aims to put film at the heart of children and young people's education all over the UK. Now in its sixth year, the Into Film Festival 2018 returns this autumn from November 7 to 23 and tickets are available now.

More than two million young people and teachers have walked through cinema doors across the UK since the first Festival in 2013. Boasting everything from specialist films to exclusive previews of upcoming blockbusters – as well as inclusive SEN and autism-friendly screenings – the Into Film Festival has something to offer everyone.

Tickets are free to book for all educators and young people, and you'll have access to:

  • A programme of more than 150 films
  • Showing at 550 venues across the UK
  • Talks, interactive workshops and careers advice
  • Complementary learning resources

The Festival opens on November 7 with simultaneous pupil premieres of The Grinch, in Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh, London and Manchester. Film highlights of the Festival also include blockbusters like Paddington 2 and The Greatest Showman, alongside recent cinema releases such as Teen Titan Go! To the Movies. Looking for something more challenging for your pupils? The Festival has a great selection of foreign language film, including French adventure animation Zarafa, as well as awe-inspiring documentaries like A Beautiful Planet 3D.

The Festival is well-known for its ever-popular strand resources and film guides as well as adding educational value through speakers and special events. With festival strands including The Year of the Woman, Visions of Europe and Mental Wellbeing – the programme covers topical themes relevant to the everyday life of young people in the UK. Other key themes of the Festival programme include comedy in film, diversity, anti-bullying and activism.

In addition to all major cinema chains who host screenings, the Festival also features events at unusual venues including libraries, film studios, zoos, castles and museums! This year the Festival also showcases cutting-edge technologies that demonstrate the prowess of the UK film industry, including Real D 3D, immersive IMAX screens, Dolby Atmos, Virtual Reality and 4DX experiences. These events guarantee the fun factor and never fail to make a lasting impact on the young people who attend.

Since its conception the Into Film Festival has been committed to ensuring that all its activities are accessible for all young people across the UK. Over half of the screenings on offer will be accessible to attendees with a visual or hearing impairment through audio-description and subtitling, as well as those with autism.

Educators actively and directly feed into the development of the Festival programme, and 94 per cent of attendees surveyed felt the Festival activities were valuable to the broader education of young people. Tickets are available to book now, so be sure to book early to guarantee you get tickets to your preferred screenings and the opportunity to inspire your students through the magic of cinema!

"We have enjoyed the film festival for many years and would highly recommend this to other schools!" Grace Elliot, The Bemrose School, Derby.
