Flexible working support

New resources have been launched to support flexible working practices in schools.

The free flexible working case studies have been developed by a partnership of organisations across education, including the #WomenEd network.

With the on-going recruitment and retention challenges across teaching, the case studies from schools across the country highlight the benefits of a wide range of flexible working practices. The short guides support discussions among senior leaders and their staff on how to ensure the positive impact of flexible working for the individual, organisation and pupils.

Vivienne Porritt, strategic leader of #WomenEd – a grassroots movement that connects existing and aspiring leaders in education – and vice-president (internal) of the Chartered College of Teaching, said: “We are delighted to launch the first set of case studies which focus on the benefits of a wide range of flexible working practices and to spark conversations within and across schools. We will keep adding more case studies and thank you to our partners for being willing to work collaboratively to support schools.”
