Don’t panic – it’s not too late. That’s the message from leading school meals provider of healthy food – Pasta King, who are conscious that some schools may still be struggling to deliver universal infant free school meals.

Pasta King has set the standard in the education sector for the past 20 years, supplying nutritious meals which provide quick, profitable solutions for caterers. In their new range of meals, created specifically for primary schools, the company has put together a solution which makes life as simple as possible for the caterer, full of tasty meals that children love.

The range includes favourites such as cottage pie, meatballs with pasta, and mild chicken korma served with rice, and has been developed with ease of preparation in mind to help meet the needs of all primary schools, including those with limited or no kitchen facilities.

The meals, which are all made to order, meet the government’s Primary Schools Nutritional Guidelines and also include options to help achieve iron and zinc requirements. All meat is British Farm Assured and their fish comes from sustainable sources

Chief executive Howard Farquhar said: “We already had a proven track record in primary schools with the ongoing success of our Wallace and Gromit pasta meals and so extending the range was a natural development for our chefs.

“We’re confident that, in this new range, Pasta King not only delivers meals that are popular with children, but also provides a real solution for caterers which will help to take the headache out of meeting the new uptake from universal infant free school meals.”
