Get creative to win £500 for your school

Aquafresh has launched its Brush Time Tales writing competition to help improve UK children’s oral hygiene

Every year, 60,000 school days are lost due to tooth extractions and poor oral health (Public Health England, 2019) with tooth decay affecting a staggering 25 per cent of five-year olds (Public Health England, 2017).

Motivated by this worrying statistic, Aquafresh, the UK’s number one kids oral care brand (Nielsen ScanTrack, 2020) has launched a new competition that will combine creative storytelling with the importance of dental hygiene among children.

The Brush Time Tales competition invites children aged five to seven across the UK to submit their own two-minute story that can be read while cleaning their teeth. The winner will receive £500 worth of Oxford Reading Tree books for their school, as well as having their story brought to life by extraordinary illustrator of The Famous Five, Becka Moor. The winning entry will then be framed and gifted to the winner and their school.

Tooth decay is the most common oral disease affecting children and young people in England (Public Health England, 2019) so it’s really important that we can support teachers and change the perception of dental hygiene amongst young people.

Parents and teachers can find the competition entry page online as well as lots of useful facts about teeth and oral hygiene. The Aquafresh Brush Time Tales competition is open now and will close on Wednesday, November 11.
