Following the success of our inaugural SEND & Inclusion conference last year, we return to London in November 2023 for yet more practical advice on how to deliver effective inclusion practice and SEN support in the mainstream secondary and primary schools.
The SEND & Inclusion conference will take place on Friday, November 24, at the Hallam Conference Centre, London, and is aimed at all staff who are responsible for, or involved in, supporting pupils in these vital aspects of education delivery in mainstream primary and secondary schools.
Keynote presentations will be given by our very own Matt Bromley, an experienced teacher, education author and long-time contributor to the magazines, and Dr Pooky Knightsmith, a renowned speaker on SEND and wider inclusive practice, who will be accompanied by her daughter, Lyra Hesmondhalgh, offering insights into teaching girls with autism.
A further 12 practical workshops will be led by professionals sharing their expertise in a wide range of topics, addressing some of the challenges facing schools today.
Sessions on inclusion will cover themes such as safeguarding, transitioning to next school phase, race and LGBT+. Meanwhile, SEND workshops will include areas such as building a special needs department from scratch, distinguishing SEND from EAL, and sharing the responsibility for SEND provision across the whole school.
All workshops will offer advice, insights, information and practical examples of good practice, which can be adapted and implemented into your school’s particular circumstances.
The event is for anyone involved in the planning and delivery of teaching and learning in primary or secondary settings, including senior leadership, SENCOs and inclusion professionals, leaders of teaching and learning, classroom teachers and support staff.
Attendance at this event costs:
- Super Early Bird (until September 29): £279
- Early bird (September 30 to October 20): £299
- Standard delegate rate (after October 20): £329
