In 2012, Headteacher Update published a number of articles in conjunction with the NFER under the heading of Research Insights.

These in-depth pieces sought to offer crucial, evidence-based advice to primary school leaders across a range of issues vital to successful primary education and teaching.

Topics in 2012 included encouraging creative thinking and practice among your teaching staff., what primary schools can do to prevent their pupils going on to become NEET in their teenage years and a look at what makes for effective assessment in the primary school classroom.

We also focuses on data and self-evaluation, looking at how primary schools can harness and use data when completing self-evaluation exercises.

Research Insights articles are published in every edition of Headteacher Update and PDFs of articles from 2013, 2014 and 2015 are also available from this website.
