In 2014, Headteacher Update published a number of articles in conjunction with the NFER under the heading of Research Insights.

These in-depth pieces sought to offer crucial, evidence-based advice to primary school leaders across a range of issues vital to successful primary education and teaching.

Topics in 2014 included advice for tackling bullying in your schools, how schools and teachers can help to spot the signs of low-level neglect – and what do to if they do – the role of schools in ensuring their pupils and staff are happy and have good wellbeing, and a look at the new primary national curriculum.

We also published two articles focusing on assessment, including the move to assessment without National Curriculum levels and the introduction of a Baseline Assessment at Reception.

Research Insights articles are published in every edition of Headteacher Update and PDFs of articles from 2012, 2013 and 2015 are also available from this website.
