During the Covid-19 lockdown, the BBC launched its remote education initiative Bitesize Daily to help support children learning from home.
The BBC’s support for schools and families is to continue this term with weekly live lessons aimed at primary school children and featuring a range of famous faces and focusing on themes including literacy and numeracy.
Lessons began on September 14 and will remain on the BBC’s website for those unable to watch live. The first lesson featured Premier League footballers Theo Walcott and Georgia Stanway, who looked at wellbeing, resilience and overcoming challenges.
Alongside the live lessons, BBC Bitesize Autumn 2020 is providing adapted curriculum-linked resources. The new content focuses on this term’s topics for years 1 to 9 and revision content for years 10 and 11, as well as “catch-up” lessons for primary children in maths and English.
