Creating and leading a Teaching School Alliance

What is involved in becoming a Teaching School and leading a Teaching School Alliance? One headteacher reflects on their experiences of this process and offers advice to those considering taking the leap

I was recently asked the following question by a colleague headteacher: “Knowing what you know now, would you advise another primary school to apply to become a Teaching School?”

My answer wasn’t a straightforward one and I hedged my bets by answering in two parts. I told my friend that if he was asking me if I would advise him to consider applying to become a Teaching School, knowing what I know about him and his school, I would say “no, don’t do it”. If, however, he is asking me if I regret my school become a Teaching School, the answer would also ne “no”, because I have no regrets.
