1, 2, 3 Germ Free! Free hand-washing resources for schools

A free initiative to help improve and promote hand-washing in children’s toilet spaces is offering a range of resources for schools.

Called 1, 2, 3 Germ Free, the resources have been developed by academics from the University of Leeds with funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council.

They use persuasive graphics and fun visuals, activities and learning materials to teach children about the importance of hand-washing to maintain a positive hand hygiene culture.

The visuals are based around using 1, 2, 3 when washing our hands:

Schools can purchase semi-permanent adhesive vinyl stickers from the university for a small cost, but all the designs are available to download for free.

Sink song: The resources include the sink song, which helps children to wash their hands for the recommended length of time
