Kids Walk with Shaun the Sheep!

Road safety charity Brake is teaming up with Shaun the Sheep for its Kids Walk event on Wednesday, June 26.

The project will see thousands of children aged from four to 11 taking part in organised walks to promote road safety and the benefits of walking.

Brake has worked with Shaun the Sheep creators Aardman on a series of resources to promote key road safety messages.

The project is free to take part in and participating schools will receive a resource pack that includes posters, activity sheets, colouring sheets, banners, certificates, stickers, assembly presentations and lesson plans featuring Shaun the Sheep.

In 2018, more than 100,000 children are estimated to have taken part in Brake’s Kids Walk, with events taking place across the UK, as well as Europe and Africa.

On average, six children are killed or seriously injured on roads in Britain every day and the World Health Organisation says that road crashes are the leading killer of children and young adults (aged fivr to 29) globally.

The new sheep-inspired road safety resources will be hosted on Brake’s new website for children, teachers and families: www.brakezebras.org
