Mental health resources: Back to school

National mental health and wellbeing charity Place2Be has published resources to help schools support pupils as they return from the Covid-19 lockdown.

The free resources focus on themes including self-efficacy, hope, gratitude and connectedness and include assembly and class activity ideas.

They are intended as a universal resource for all children and school staff are being asked to use them as a starting point to promote emotional wellbeing and resilience.

The primary school resources were published as many primary schools welcomed back Reception, year 1 and year 6 pupils on Monday (June 1).

Secondary school resources are due to be published in the coming days. Secondary schools will be opening their doors to some extent for year 10 and 12 students from June 15.

Place2Be has been providing mental health services in schools for 25 years, including child counselling and staff training.
