Organised by the Youth Sport Trust, this year’s event is pushing the message of “Always Active” and the importance of children doing 60 minutes of PE, sport and active play every day.
And on June 21, the event is aiming to host the UK’s biggest ever sports day when organisers hope thousands of schools will lay-on activities promoting movement, sport, and the joy of being active.
Schools and families can register online with the chance to win sports equipment and vouchers for Sports Direct – the event’s headline sponsor. Registrants will receive resources, daily movement challenges and webinar support to help deliver an impactful week of sports.
The event encourages schools to facilitate a range of activities, from small, simple movements to larger-scale sports day events. This could include incorporating movement into lessons, one-minute hopscotch breaks in the corridors, and encouraging running and playing games during break times.
