Reported child casualties normally rise for each year of primary school. This project equips teachers with the tools and resources they require to teach road-user education to all years, nursery through to year 6.
Each 28-page booklet can be used year after year and contains four workshops for each year group (content appropriate) covering: awareness and knowledge of traffic and its environment, a safe strategy for crossing the road, visibility, and an understanding of the meaning of signs and symbols.
There are also additional choices of longer project workshops for reception through to year 6 based on what children have learnt in the main workshops. Also included are photocopiable resources, PowerPoints, a song CD for years 1 to 2, a DVD with film resources, and a bookmark for every child.
