Video resources: Trainee teachers offered lesson design insights

CPD
A series of support videos for trainee teachers has been launched by the Oak National Academy offering advice on designing and structuring lessons.

The videos have been produced by Oak’s teachers and are aimed at supporting trainee teachers who have faced disruption to their practical teaching experience this year.

Oak National Academy was set up with government funding last year to support schools’ efforts to provide remote education during national lockdowns.

The new videos feature Oak teachers reflecting on lessons they have created for the platform, what methods they have chosen and why. They explain how each lesson has been structured and designed and share their pedagogical decisions.

The videos exemplify key elements of the ITT Core Content Framework (DfE, 2019), which sets out the core minimum entitlement for all trainees that ITT providers must draw upon when designing and delivering their programmes.
