NAHT membership: Great minds think alike

Leadership/school profiles
As a busy senior leader you face unique challenges. NAHT is ideally positioned to help and support you to do your job because we understand your role as we’re always working on the issues that matter most to school leaders.

At NAHT we’re a community of 29,000 "great minds". Education professionals working in senior teaching roles across primary and secondary, independent and maintained, SEND and early years. We represent and support senior leaders; heads, principals, deputies, vice principals, assistant heads and school business managers. Members can take advantage of immediate access to significant union support, legal advice, high quality training and development, plus we lobby hard as a voice of senior teaching professionals.

Great minds think alike

But don’t take our word for it… Our members tell us how valuable they find the support and advocacy they receive. Louisa, NAHT member who is headteacher of a south west primary and early years school, told us: “It’s vital to have a group of people that understand our roles. I can’t fault the practical advice, knowledge and emotional support that I've received, NAHT provides peace of mind through a knowledgeable team you can depend upon”.

In fact 94 per cent of our members tell us that they would refer a colleague to join NAHT.

How can I benefit from being a member?

Core benefits of membership include our expert helpline, quality professional support and advice at every turn, outstanding trade union representation should you need it, a CPD offering that's second to none and a proven record for professional representation and lobbying on your behalf. Probably the reason we won the highest member satisfaction level of any education union*.

New members save 50% on membership

New members who join online before 30 November 30, 2015, can benefit from saving 50% off their membership fees until January 2017. New heads conference

In addition members can take advantage of reduced training and conference fees. Newly appointed heads may find our two day New Heads conference of particular interest. Taking place in London on March 18, 2016, or Manchester on May 20, 2016, you’ll be inspired by speakers and practitioners who will give an insight into the role. Gain an overview of the changing educational landscape and consider ways to sustain your personal resilience throughout your career. You’ll return to your school equipped to develop and deliver your vision, and to prioritise the daily demands of your new role. Find out more at www.naht.org.uk/newheads
