Free tennis equipment on offer

Free tennis equipment and teacher training is being made available to primary schools across the UK.

Tennis for Schools is aiming to give more children the opportunity to play tennis in their own school and entitles those participating to £250 worth of free tennis equipment and teacher training with the Lawn Tennis Association.

The scheme is being run by the LTA and Premier Education and schools will receive curriculum-linked tennis themed lesson plans and videos from the LTA Youth Schools programme.

Tennis for Schools will help children learn the basics of the sport or nurture skills progression in those with existing tennis experience.

Michelle Gray, schools and further education manager at the LTA, said: “LTA Youth Schools is a free cross curricular programme designed specifically to support delivery of the curriculum and wider school outcomes.

“The flexible inclusive PE lessons focus on developing fundamental movement skills, physical literacy and character skills. In addition, the free online teacher training course has been written by teachers for teachers to help them deliver high-quality PE lessons with a whole class in a small space.

The offer is available until July 31. To register or for more information visit www.premier-education.com/tennis-for-schools/
