A range of practical singing strategies for use in the primary school are available from a new and free digital resource.

Aimed at primary school music teachers, the Primary Singing Toolkit has been published via the ISM Trust, a charity dedicated to education and the arts.

The resource, which has been produced with the Voices Foundation and is supported by the Schools Music Association, offers singing strategies to enhance the music curriculum, including activities focused on upon call and response, pitch and composition, notation, healthy singing practices, leading a choir, part singing and leading a round, and refining a song.

Schools can also access a free webinar focused on using the Primary Singing Toolkit and due to take place from 4pm to 5pm on Thursday, March 23.
The webinar will feature discussion about practical singing strategies to enhance the music curriculum and will be presented by Voices Foundation choral director Charles MacDougall and musicianship director Jenny Trattles.
