The resources have been produced by the Royal British Legion with support from the National Literacy Trust and include two live learning projects.
The Alive with Poppies poetry project takes place from October 3 to 6 when poet Tomos Roberts will be delivering four virtual lessons helping children plan, create and perform their own Remembrance poetry.
The Live Remembrance Assembly is running on Armistice Day on November 11 and is an interactive live stream aimed at key stage 2 classes, exploring why we remember through poetry and music and bringing children together for the two-minute silence.
The RBL has also added to its existing range of Remembrance lesson plans, assemblies, and bite-size activities. Schools can access tailored assemblies for key stages 1 to 5 as well as bite-size activities and lesson plans for key stages 2 and 3. This year the resources explore the theme of “service”, including highlighting the role of the civilian emergency services.
